Local Area and Beyond
The local area is entirely agricultural, with a lot of fruit growing, and features small roads (with very little traffic) winding along gentle hills and valleys, often leading to a local vineyard…. There are lots of charming and historic towns and villages to visit in the area. There is a tennis court in the village, you can ride a horse or play golf within 20 minutes drive, and there is go-karting 15 minutes away on the way to Cahors.
Further afield there are plenty of things to see and do, from larger markets in the historic and attractive city of Cahors, with its amazing mediaeval bridge (25 minutes) and Caussade (also 25 minutes), to the Gouffre de Padirac caves (75 minutes) where you can take a boat along an underground river. The extraordinary pilgrimage village of Rocamadour (also 75 minutes) is built on the side of a rocky gorge, and the enchanting village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie (50 minutes) clings to a high cliff overhanging the tranquil river Lot.
There is kayaking/canoeing on the river Lot, as well as on the Aveyron river at the historic and attractive town of St Antonin-Noble-Val (45 minutes) in the beautiful Gorges de l’Aveyron. Other places to visit include nearby Lauzerte (formerly held by the English!) and Cordes-sur-Ciel, as well as Moissac and Carcassonne.
