Kitchen

The big sunny family kitchen is very well equipped, with a full range of cooking equipment and a small breakfast table (and the Borde Basse bear, which doesn’t however need feeding!). It has windows on two sides and a door to the larger of the two terraces with a dining table to seat 10 – and wonderful views down the valley.

“The house is wonderfully spacious and had everything we needed – it was remarkably well equipped.”

Linen, Towels and Cleaning

Lovely cool Egyptian cotton sheets and large fluffy towels (including pool towels) are provided.

The house is thoroughly cleaned and prepared before your arrival.  An end of stay clean is included, although we may need to make a small charge if extra time is required for this.

Outside

“We ate all our meals on the large terrace near the kitchen, enjoying the beautiful views of sunflowers, watching the butterflies and listening to the crickets.”

The kitchen terrace has a large table for outdoor meals, and is a favourite place for lingering after supper to watch the amazing sunsets.

There is also a smaller covered terrace off the sitting room, which often has a cooling breeze in the heat of the day and is a popular place to congregate for a drink or just to sit and enjoy the view.

Next to the barn there is a stunning 10 x 5 m saltwater swimming pool with wide steps at the shallow end.   The surrounding stone walls provide security and make it a real sun trap.   A great advantage is that the pool is near the house but not right on top of it.  Leading off the pool area is a games room with table tennis and mini football.

There is a charcoal barbecue, and behind the house there is a boules pitch.
